Stuck cat

So yesterday we headed out of town to go to a baby shower and stay overnight with Jman's paternal grandparents....... had a good time. Got home around 1215 today. Now normally when we come in, the two cats come to say HI and greet us...... but only one did today. So I start looking around. No cat to be see in his normal places, not on the bed, not on the couches....... so then I go down to check in the den and I can hear him crying.... so is he stuck in the closet? nope. in the dryer? no, the sound is coming from in that bathroom with the water heater, and washer/dryer. Low and behold he is stuck behind the water heater that only has 1/2 inch clearance between the wall and the heater on the and wall on the two walls of the corner. Um, not good.

5 people and an hour later we finally manage to come up with a plan that works. Think animal planet and those noose thingys. We get it looped around his neck and get him pulled up high enough to grab......

There is no telling how he got down there..........

Things I have recently learned

So I have learned a few things since becoming a homeowner.
  • whoever coined the term "paint the town red" has NEVER actually painted anything red.
  • when painting red someone will track it over the light colored carpets.
  • some people think it is a good idea to store their dish towels in the dryer vent.
  • I am not one of those people.
  • the best way to remove that towel is with half a curtain rod.
  • I need a cordless drill.
  • the shower door is smarter than I am.
  • 26 kitchen cabinet knobs are expensive.
  • leaves take up a lot of space in lawn bags. you can never have enough.
  • boxes will multiply if you leave them unattended.
  • Home Depot and its staff are your friends.
  • those friends will rekey your locks to a new key for $5 per lock.
  • that is WAY cheaper than calling a locksmith.
I am sure I have learned more and as I think of it, I will share.
